Traditionally this herb has been used to eliminate infections both internally and externally. Internally it strengthens mucus membranes making tissues less susceptible to infection. It is used as an eyewash and mouthwash to flush out infection and bacteria. We prefer to use organically grown Golden Seal. Since it is a popular herb it has been over harvested in the wild. Also used for sore throat, gastritis, ulceration and colitis. An infusion used as douche for vaginitis. Not for use in pregnancy.
