Wassail Spice Mix

INGREDIENTS PER BOTTLE:

9 Whole Cloves
3 Medium Pieces of Crystallized Ginger
6 Cardamom Pods
1/2 Cup Dried Orange Peel

TO MAKE:

1. In a large pan, place one Wassail Spice Mix, 1 cup raisins, and 1 1/2 quarts grape juice (or 1 quart wine); bring to the simmering point.
2. Simmer for one hour. Remove spice bag (it can be reused one more time).
3. Add 1 gallon cider, and heat just long enough to bring the mixture to a simmer.
4. Pour into a preheated punch bowl and serve.

A gift of Wassail!
Pack a small muslin bag with mulling spices into a glass-footed mug and tie on a big ribbon to take to your holiday-party host and hostess. You can also combine the spices with a special holiday mug or a bottle of wine.
